Kanije Hablemitoglu

LL.M. BA. pth.

Therapy is a space to explore yourself with care and curiosity. Through a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approach, we look at the patterns and unspoken experiences that shape your life. Together, we work toward relief, deeper connection, and lasting change.

About Me

I am a psychotherapist in training under supervision, specializing in psychodynamic or psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. I am continuing my theoretical and practical training at Sigmund Freud University, including supervision and training analysis with psychoanalysts approved by our institution.

With an international background, experience across diverse fields (e.g. law, academic coaching), and clinical training in psychiatric in-patient and psychotherapeutic outpatient settings, I bring a broad perspective to my work. I see therapy as a collaborative process where each therapeutic relationship is unique. My goal is to support you in finding clarity, balance and meaning as we explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns toward lasting insights rather than temporary solutions.

If you feel ready to begin, you are welcome to contact me for an initial consultation.

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is rooted in understanding that much of what shapes us lives outside of conscious awareness. Thoughts, feelings, and choices are often influenced by unconscious conflicts, early experiences, and patterns of relating that continue to live within us.

We aim for symptom relief, but the psychoanalytic work also asks what the symptoms mean and where they are coming from. Anxiety, depression, shame, rumination, recurring relationship difficulties are not just random… They signal what is seemingly forgotten and waiting to be heard. Through our exploration of deeper layers, we begin to uncover how past and present intertwine in our daily lives. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is about working through internal conflicts and inhibitions to achieve lasting, realistic change and expanding your capacity for love, work, and creativity.

The method is simple yet profound: you speak as freely as possible (whatever falls to your mind in the moment) and I listen with attention not only to what is said but what is also not directly spoken. In this shared process, dreams, slips, repetitions, and associations become meaningful material that guides the work.

Services

Individual Psychotherapy (in-person and online)

At times, life presents difficulties that cannot be resolved with surface solutions alone. Experiences of anxiety, depression, emptiness, or low-self esteem often stem from deeper layers of conflicts and patterns that continue to shape us even if we are not aware of them.

In individual psychotherapy, we meet regularly in a safe and confidential space where your thoughts, feelings, and associations can flow freely. What may appear at first as a symptom or recurring problem can gradually reveal its meaning when given the time and attention.

We do not just stop at managing difficulties; this process is a path toward understanding the less visible forces that influence your choices, relationships, and sense of self. As the hidden dynamics come into the conscious, new ways of living and relating can become possible.

For those who cannot easily attend in person, I also offer online psychotherapy sessions. Online therapy offers flexible support that fits your life, making it a great solution for frequent travelers, students and professionals with demanding schedules. Sessions take place via secure video platforms, ensuring confidentiality and accessibility wherever you are.

Therapy for Expats and Immigrants: Living Between Worlds

Living abroad can be both enriching and unsettling. Many who leave their country of origin discover not only a new culture but also unfamiliar feelings of disconnection, loneliness, and a sense of being in between. Questions of identity, belonging, and home often come to surface with a particular intensity when living far from familiar ground.

In therapy, these experiences are not treated as mere adjustments to be solved but as meaningful signals of deeper processes. Separation, discrimination, cultural transition, and the loss or creation of ties can stir earlier experiences of attachment and relationships. When we explore them with curiosity, care, and empathy, these challenges may open a path to a more integrated sense of self that holds together both past and present, home and away. Whether you are an expat, immigrant, or an international student, this work can support you in navigating life between cultures while staying grounded and open to change.

Areas of Focus

My work centers on helping individuals explore anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions. I also specialize in supporting expats, immigrants, and those navigating cultural and personal changes, creating space for growth and self-understanding.
